CLADOCERA (underorden)				DAFNIER På engelsk hedder dafnier (Cladocera) waterfleas hvilket direkte oversat betyder "vandloppe". Men vandlopper (Copepoda) er en helt anden gruppe af småkrebs, der på engelsk hedder copepods På tysk kaldes dafnier for Wasserflöhe, hvilket også oversat betyder "vandloppe", mens vandlopper kaldes for Ruderfusskrebse, hvilket jeg oversætter til årefodskrebs. På norsk kaldes dafnier for vannlopper, kun Daphnia slægten kaldes dafnier. Vandlopper kaldes for hoppekrebs. Svensk er næsten på linje med dansk, idét de kalder dafnier for dafnier eller hinnkräfter og vandlopper for vattenloppor eller hoppkräfter. 			P. avirostris Dana, 1849	Hav-svævedafnie Penilia avirostris er ny for nord-atlanten og blev første gang registreret i danske farvande i 2001 i Kattegat. Penilia er i modsætning til de andre marine dafnier ikke rovlevende, men filtrerer mindre fødepartikler ligesom f.eks. de kendte ferskvandsarter fra blandt andet slægten Bosmina.
